When Sanwa Screen Printing Company first began in 1979, the vision was to grow a people-first company. More than four decades later, we've become a global organization with over 1,600 employees worldwide. Our journey reflects not just business success, but a philosophy that has guided us from day one: "A company exists through its people."
From the beginning, Sanwa founder Mr. Tsutomu Goto established a fundamental principle that continues to define us today—our employees are our most valuable resource.
Early years were defined by persistence and discovery. Day after day, we focused on selling parts and exploring new business opportunities, gradually identifying a specialized niche in the manufacturing world. As our expertise grew, so did our sales and our team. We steadily expanded our capabilities to include auto and appliance parts, in-mold labeling, film insert molding, as well as paint, laser, and sputtering products.
As the world transformed around us, automobiles became a standard of modern living, and household appliances like washing machines, microwaves, refrigerators, and rice cookers became essential fixtures in homes across the globe. This cultural shift dramatically increased demand for quality components—and we were positioned to meet that demand.
As Sanwa Group Chairman Mr. Tsutomu Goto recognized: "We must constantly develop relationships with new customers using technology that meets the needs of the times."
Following this wisdom, we successfully established the high-quality manufacturing culture associated with "Made in Japan" across different countries.
This dedication to excellence earned us the trust of foreign-based automobile manufacturers who have become our valued customers.
This corporate culture embraces challenges that other competitors might avoid. A willingness to tackle difficult projects has been a driving force behind earning customer trust and developing new technologies. Instead of shying away from complexity, we see it as an opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities.
At Sanwa, we understand that success comes directly from our people. That's why we invest heavily in employee well-being.
We organize overseas company trips every 4-5 years, and domestic excursions every couple of years.
Our team members enjoy group bowling and golf tournaments, and we actively participate in our communities by supporting festivals and even sponsoring local sumo wrestlers.
Today, we have factories in Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Indonesia and Mexico. Many of them have cafeterias where employees can enjoy hot, healthy, homemade lunches daily, with half of the cost covered by the company. Additional benefits include meal coupons, transportation to and from factories, comprehensive healthcare, 401K plans, and year-end celebrations with gifts like TVs, tablets, and home appliances.
Our growth story wouldn't be complete without mentioning the core technologies that have defined our success:
These capabilities have established us as leaders in our field, enabling us to produce components that touch millions of lives daily.
The scale of our impact over the last four decades—including the number of people that our parts have touched—is truly humbling.
Looking forward, we're excited about the technological revolution underway in the automotive industry, in particular. The emergence of CASE (Connected, Autonomous/Automated, Shared, Electric) technology is creating unprecedented opportunities. As vehicles become more lightweight with dramatically expanded interior design possibilities, our technologies for resin products position us to continue growing.
As we look to the future, we do so with the same spirit of innovation and dedication to excellence that has guided us for over four decades. From our modest beginnings as a three-person operation to our current global presence, we remain committed to our founding principle—valuing the people who make Sanwa what it is.
