Since 1977, Sanwa has been a leading company worldwide in decorative techniques for applying screen printing and painting to molded materials. In 2014, we delivered another leading edge to customers with innovative and high-quality solutions from a new factory in Zapopan, Mexico (a suburb of Guadalajara).
This factory now has 40 employees and supports many of our North American operations. Later this year, we’ll be expanding to offer even more. From small batch orders to larger productions for some of the best-known appliance and auto manufacturers in the world, Sanwa Mexico helps us turn all types of plastic-part visions into reality.
Our location near Guadalajara (the seventh largest city in Mexico), opens up many doors of possibility when it comes to attracting the best talent, accessing the best delivery methods, and connecting our customers from the U.S. West Coast to Mexico, Texas and Chicago.
With our location near the busy seaport of Manzanillo — one of the busiest ports in Mexico — we are able to bring the quality and production standards we’ve established in Japan closer to our North American customers. Projects can be printed in Japan and easily completed in Mexico, bringing finished parts to your door from a one-stop-shop in-mold labeling (IML) partner.
The main products we produce in our Mexico location are molded plastic parts. We have six plastic injection machines and 450-ton preforming equipment to meet our customers’ needs. We offer IML manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) document creation all from this location.
We also have equipment to mold fine expression silk printing films, which enables high-definition patterns like brushstroke or wood grain for printed plastic parts. Because of this, many of the parts we produce are used in the appliance and auto industries — printing realistic patterns that bring high-end and long-lasting products to life.
Starting in October this year, we will be expanding our factory’s operations with new 180-350 ton injection machines, as well as two automatic painting rooms that will allow us to develop a spray painting process on-site.
And as always, we continue on our journey to become more eco-friendly at all locations. Sanwa Mexico currently has a recycling program for wood pallets and other materials, and we are continually looking for ways to improve efficiencies and reduce waste during production at every step.
When you reach out to our Mexico location, you’ll meet staff that speak Spanish, English and Japanese. We invite you to contact us and learn about the possibilities from our North American location. Whether you have questions about shipping, timelines, prototyping or order size, we’re here to help you realize your product’s success.
